Meditation on Bird Migration
A meditation on watching bird migration at sunrise. Of 338 bird species categorized as arctic-tropical migrators, 333 have been recorded in Texas, and habitats found particularly in the upper coast of Texas are extremely important to birds traveling the Central Flyway. Though reasons for migration vary by species, signals to begin and navigate the migration path are deeply connected to the earth's natural forces, including topography, waterways, wind, and climate. Large flocks of small animals take flight in patterns and rhythms so calculated they seem rehearsed.
